On a day like today, with budget negotiations dragging on and fingers pointing on both sides, I find it’s helpful to take a breath, cool down, and remember the things that make life worth living. Things like, say, Barack Obama’s smile. Who knows? If talks between Boehner and Reid go well over the next hour or two, we might yet see it flashing in the White House briefing room tonight. Stick close by the television, my friends.
