GOP congressman: Are you ready for the "Commitment With America"?

It’s Aaron Schock, who won’t turn 30 until next year but who already BS’s like a seasoned pro twice his age. This is, to my knowledge, the very first time that the long-rumored sequel to the “Contract With America” has been named, which is enough to make the clip newsworthy. Unfortunately, that’s about the best Schock can do by way of detail. Quote:

“I think you’re going to see a similar platform and a similar set of goals [to the “Contract”], obviously relevant to today’s issues, come out at the end of this summer or early fall that many of our candidates will be running on,” Schock said on MSNBC…

Schock said that the document would contain provisions related to small government and fiscal discipline, as the GOP plans to run primarily on the economic issues in the fall.

Scarborough presses him to name some programs they’d like to cut and … it’s all downhill from there. Exit question: What are the odds that they’ll muster the nerve to identify specific spending cuts before the election? And if the answer to that is “slim,” what are the odds that they’ll actually make the cuts once they’re back in power?
