A glancing blow from last night’s primetime special but still surprising in how they have it coming out of Obama’s mouth instead of McCain’s. I assumed the only mention of Ayers we’d see on SNL would be in the context of some goof on Maverick for being desperate. As it is, this reminds me of the New Yorker cover: It’s so over the top that they clearly don’t mean for it to be taken seriously, but it’s also bound to irritate some lefties worried that low-information voters won’t know which elements are satire and which aren’t.

It starts, and stays, sloooow until Bill Murray shows up, at which point things liven up. Stick with it.
