It’s so bizarre that on first viewing I thought maybe there’d been a ‘prompter glitch since the rest of the segment is pure froth, presenting the bump as the cutesy poo gesture of affection that it actually was. On second viewing, it’s clear there’s no glitch; I think what happened was that they chose some outlandish interpretation of it to cite in the intro to drive home the point that people see what they want to see in these things. As the guardian of the grail said to Indiana Jones, they chose … poorly.
