He’s segued from the awful fake-profound These Things I Believe spots to the awful fake-substantive Vague To The Point Of Meaninglessness issue spots. Granted, it’s exceptionally hard to address the economy in 30 seconds, especially when you can’t roll out any anti-incumbent tearjerkers featuring people who have lost their jobs. But this looks like a Romney ad minus the impressive bio and larded up with empty promises to fix everything but the kitchen sink.

Then again, no one’s voting for Maverick for his economic acumen so I guess the plan is to talk bold, smile, and hope no one presses him too hard on the particulars.
