It’s also a way to funnel money to Iran. Once we start our very own torture trials Iran will be free to sue us for torturing their “diplomats” that we held in Gitmo. We need to pursue torture crimes in order to enable Iran to sue for said crimes.

Bozo will be prosecuted for much worse when he’s out in 2013. If only Bozo understood that.
you have story after story coming out all at the same time. From times talking about afghan war crimes, to Cheney concealing a program that was never actually used, to this. This isn’t a coincidence. They are in trouble and are going to risk the national comity to shore up their bade and cover for their failures.
He’s not thinking about that. He plans to fix the 2012 elections, and then eliminate elections after that.

Let them do it. It will blow up in their faces. For almost eight years George Bush kept this country safe and if the Obama administration thinks he will score points with anybody but the MSM pinkos and his own cronies then he will sadly disappointed.
NeoKong on July 12, 2009 at 2:49 PM
Bread and circuses worked for the Roman pro-consuls who used the spectacles to distract a populace constantly on the verge of starvation.
Why not Obama?
And the MSM will be rabidly supportive.
Akzed on July 12, 2009 at 2:51 PM
Sure, let’s prosecute torture to distract from economic failure. And while we’re at it, let’s attack Cheney.
I for one don’t want to anymore torture anymore. I think we’ve debated the hell out of the topic enough. Whatever one’s stance is on the topic don’t u think it is time move on already?

As George Bush would say “Bring it On!”
Obama administration: “Oh it is already been broughten.”

Why not Obama?
Um….because the bakeries and circuses will be bankrupt so where the hell will Carter-the-Taller get his bread and circuses from?

Heh, that was my first thought too. Cheney will eat Holder for breakfast. I can hardly wait to see it.
petefrt on July 12, 2009 at 3:16 PM
You’ll have to wait, because the MSM will not report anything that makes Mr. “America is a Nation of Cowards” Holder look weakened or wrong.

Prosecuting “torture” as a distraction from economic failure.
Not quite… Obama isn’t actually going to prosecute anybody. Remember: everything Obama does is theater, just like his Gitmo show-trials that won’t actually free anybody regardless of outcome. He’s just going to do a PR press and make noises about “investigating” and “possibly prosecuting” people for heinous acts the Cheney Cabal obviously are guilty of.
Obama won’t actually prosecute anybody on the outside chance that Cheney gets vindicated and the whole “torture” kabuki blows up in his face.

You’ve already charged, tried and convicted Cheney with no evidence and no trial. What’s he “guilty” of, in your opinion?

Prosecuting “torture” as a distraction from economic failure
That was my first thought when I heard about this. Obama is desperate to take attention off his handling of the economy.
Realist on July 12, 2009 at 2:55 PM
Well, I think you have to add “petty vindictiveness” to “distraction” to get the whole picture.
darii on July 12, 2009 at 2:56 PM
Im waiting for Darth Cheney to put a choke hold on Holder.
“Dont be too proud of this legal terror you have create. The power of the Justice Department is insignificant compared to the power of the Cheney”
