To which Politico commenters respond with their usual level of common sense:
Hey Ben, What is this another ad for McCain? If both presidential nominees had been white males, would the media be attacking them like this.
We know the GOP is only going to smear and attack Obama, let’s just be sure to smear and attack McStupid more so. The guy is both older and dumber than dirt.
The Age Issue: Because It Worked So Magnificently Against Reagan.
The bit was sort of funny. No matter your politics, Stewart can be pretty funny sometimes. It’s going to be a long four years for Stewart and Colbert if Obama wins the Presidency and the Dems keep Congress. They’ll be forced to make fun of Obama…and it doesn’t seem like their audiences are going to like it.

Figures. Politico has been the most balanced news outlet in covering the 08 race. Wherever the libs don’t see the typical MSM liberal bias, they’ll pounce. Look at what they did to Stephanopholos when he tried to ask Obama some tough questions on Ayers.

“Video no longer available”? That didn’t take long. Maybe my TiVo caught it as a suggestion. It usually picks up TDS if there’s room.
I’m still puzzled by the “Yes We Can” slogan from the Obama camp. Near as I can tell, his entire plan for America is “No You Can’t”!!!
Can’t use your own property if a beast, bug, or illegal alien wants to use it.
Can’t keep and spend your own money: tax man is coming to get it.
Can’t drill for our own oil
Can’t dig our own coal out of the ground
Can’t properly flush our own toilets.
Can’t take a decent shower.
Can’t drive a safe car: only roller skates covered in tin foil. And those will all have explosive charges aimed at our chests.
Can’t set our own thermostats: thermostat police will dictate the settings.
Can’t have low-cost abundant food: government must convert it into heavily-subsidized, inefficient, polluting fuel.

“You’re allowed to laugh at him!”
Apparently not. I don’t watch this dope and only see him when AP links his act, but I have never heard him deliver a schtick in total silence. His retarded fans only cheered one statement – “He’s already President!”
Then, when Steward starts mocking Obama, they all sit there with their thumbs up their asses.
Jaibones on June 24, 2008 at 3:34 PM
That’s my favorite part, the nervous, hesitant laughter. You can almost hear the audience thinking, “Is this okay? Will people think I’m a racist?”
You can’t laugh at a black man, hater. You must be a Super Secret Racist at heart. Go vote for McCain, neanderthal.
Enrique on June 24, 2008 at 3:41 PM
Okay, I went and watched it at the Comedy Central site. Still doesn’t work for me at Politico for some reason.
I find it kind of sad that Stewart’s audience is so afraid to laugh at their guy, even when he’s being patently ridiculous. Stewart can and does tell some rather unfair political jokes, but these were mild and completely justifiable. I can laugh at our guys when Stewart is dead-on about their ridiculousness or stupidity. It’s sad that these young liberals in his audience can’t do the same about their Messiah. It’s going to be a long 4 years if he actually gets elected.
Just go to your local Hallmark, or better yet, grocery or drugstore greeting card aisle. Gasp, I saw a new section of political humor cards at Publix…and CVS has the most BDS.
- deranged ridicule of President Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice: check, check, check
- some ridicule of Hillary Clinton: check
- a little ridicule of Algore: check
- extreme ridicule of John McCain: check
- barely visible humor, not ridicule, aimed at Obama: check

Please go fight for the other team if you’re going to fight like a *****.
The obvious complaint about Steph was that he was previously employed/owned by the Clintons. If McCain were facing him against Hillary in a debate, there would be NO end to the hypotesizing and hand-wringing.
You have a valid point, but crappy supporting evidence.

Ha, you’re the best. The gentle grammar jibe was only secondary. I figured you meant hypothesize, but I couldn’t figure out how you meant it in your comment.
