Of course Scotty is lying. It’s gotta be tempting to write the anti-GOP tell-all that makes the big bucks & gets your face on TV daily. Who would buy a book about what a nice guy Bush is?
The thing about the big media outlets is conservatives can yell about liberal bias until they’re blue in the face, and 90 percent of those people don’t care because they don’t associate with conservatives on a day-to-day basis. But when the left makes the same charge — only this time that the press is biased towards the right — those are the folks Katie or Charlie Gibson are face-to-face with every day, and they’re also the ones they seek personal affirmation from.
They don’t want the people on the Upper West Side or Georgetown cocktail party circuit mad at them, which is why they take their criticism so seriously (and why, in Gibson’s case, he’s doing penance right now for grilling Obama along with Stephanopolous at that Pennsylvania debate back in April).
