‘Beverly Hills 90210’ Star Attacked by Bikers, Claims Police Response "Insufficient"

Ian Ziering was one of the ensemble cast of Beverly Hills 90210, a teen drama television show that lasted from 1990 to 2000. He is also known as a star of the movie Sharknado. On New Year’s Eve, he was the victim of a bizarre attack by a group of mini-bike riders.

Weird, huh? He was stuck in traffic on Hollywood Boulevard, in the vicinity of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with his 10-year-old daughter. Before he knew what was happening, a group of about a dozen mini-bikers were all around his vehicle. Ziering thought one biker who was in front of his vehicle may have done some damage so he got out of the car to check. One thing led to another and he was being aggressively attacked by various bikers in the group. He punched back and ran across the street to get rid of them. Some followed him before the attack broke up. Neither he nor his daughter were hurt.

Let’s stop there for a minute. As a mom, the first thing I ponder is why he left his little girl there among the bikers as he ran away? What if some whacko had gotten into the car and grabbed her? Or hurt her as she waited in the car? I don’t want to shame the victim but that is something I thought about when reading the story.

TMZ got the story and ran with it. Unfortunately, they mistook his younger daughter for his older daughter. He had his younger daughter in the car, 10-year-old daughter, Penna. TMZ reported he was with his 12-year-old daughter, Mia. The important thing is that she was not harmed.

Ziering is appalled at the lawlessness on the street and an insufficient law enforcement response. He released a statement about the attack on his Instagram account.

‘I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace,’ Ziering added on Instagram.

‘This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior.’

‘As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient,’ he continued, before urging law enforcement to ‘take decisive action.’

‘I have always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct, and this incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety.’

He concluded: ‘I am thankful for the support of my family, friends, and fans during this time.

‘It’s in challenging moments like these that the strength and unity of our community are most vital. Happy new year.’

His ex-wife shares custody of the two girls with Ziering. She is a registered nurse and uses his last name. She put out a statement on Instagram, too. She is concerned about the privacy of her daughter.

Reposting her ex-husband’s video, she wrote: ‘I have over 150 messages about this incident in 24hrs and I am not responding due to [Ian and Penna’s] privacy.

‘As I appreciate the need for info by everyone, please understand respectfully and if needing information please reach out to the direct people involved.’

In another slide shared via Instagram Stories, the mother-of-two reshared her daughter Mia’s social media post.

Mia’s note corrected a reporting error — ‘Guys, I’m fine. tmz literally lied. I was not the one in the car. It was Penna,’ the pre-teen wrote.

She continued, ‘Thanks for checking it but it was misinformation and also very embarrassing. And it’s clearly Penna. like huh.’

Her mother reiterated over on her own page, ‘Also please respect my daughters privacy. The wrong one was named.’

It’s scary out there with the current atmosphere of lawlessness in so many cities. Democrats are not interested in law and order, they care more about immediately releasing criminals back out on the streets. They hesitate to crack down on “hooliganism.” How many videos have we seen where roaming gangs of thieves go from retail store to store grabbing whatever they want and walking out with the merchandise? They don’t even bother to run anymore, knowing that no one is going to stop them. Who knows what these punks on mini-bikes were up to? Maybe their thing is to intimidate drivers. The circumstances of the attack on Ziering are a little fuzzy but in the video it looks like he was stopped in traffic. For whatever reason, the bikers chose him as their victim.

Are mini-bikes a thing now? Are they street legal? That part of the story seems almost too silly.

Anyway, I’m glad they are ok. What a horrifying experience for a 10-year-old to watch her dad being attacked. It’s good that Ziering is speaking out. People across the country are facing random acts of violence. He has a platform as a celebrity to get the word out that something has to change. Thugs and thieves have had free reign for too long.
