The House vote on Speaker Pelosi’s government health care bill is set for Saturday morning. She is scrambling to buy off recalcitrant Democrats on two of very issues that Rep. Joe Wilson and other House Republicans called out the White House for: abortion and illegal immigrant coverage. The wheeling and dealing is taking place behind closed doors. Once again, the Democrats who promised transparency are breaking their own promise to publish the final bill publicly 72 hours before the vote.
Which dovetails perfectly with my column today on Democrats and the death of deliberative democracy. I’ve uploaded the entire 2006 report I referenced in the piece right here (PDF) for your reading amusement. Just callin’ em out.

I want a full financial investigation of any Blue Dog that walks the plank for Pelosi. If they believe they will lose reelection and still vote for this abomination then I suspect payoffs. I would not be surprised if George Soros is setting up Swiss bank accounts for Blue Dogs that cooperate with Pelosi.
It may sound ridiculous but there is no other rational explanation for supporting Pelosi and ending one’s political career.
The Blue Dogs would be better served by switching parties. They may even be reelected.

They may even be reelected.
That would guarantee their re-election!

Just heard on radio that California is increasing tax withholding by 10 percent
They say it is not a tax increase, but it is being collected because they want to spend it early, not because the taxpayer owes more
Ask the public if they want this. The only deliberative body I can see is the large greedy body of politicians deliberating how they can fleece the public
MM is right on target. The politicians are boasting they do not read the bills they sign. They do not even write them, in some cases. And they no longer want the public to read them either. In which case, why deliberate. just wait for orders
