“Honestly, because Rush doesn’t think for himself. That’s not necessarily a slap because he’s not paid to be a thinker—he’s an entertainer. I can’t remember the last time that he has veered from the talking points from the DC/Manhattan chattering class. If they were praising Huckabee, he would be too.”
LOL! I agree 100%

Way to go. Call Rush a borg. That’ll hurt.

I’m sure Limbaugh, with his millions of listeners, does not.
Maybe he should compare where Rush was on two huge battles over amnesty/illegal immigration (diametrically opposed to the chattering class) compared to where Huck was during those same battles (right in line with the DC/Manhattan chattering class).

Republican politicians are afraid of Rush today like they were afraid of the NY Times in the twentieth centuray. Instead of ink, Rush has a microphone as his megaphone.

That…was not wise.

I can’t remember the last time that he has veered from the talking points from the DC/Manhattan chattering class.
Well, he has that exactly backwards. I can’t remember the last time the DC/Manhattan chattering class veered very far from Rush’s talking points. Whether you’re a Limbaugh fan or not, it’s difficult to support the claim that Limbaugh doesn’t think for himself. He’s been setting the tone of political debate for almost two decades now.
Rush may not even bother to swat this fly. But risking that Rush might hit back was very, very stupid on this guy’s part. Rush is already not being kind to Huck. I doubt this will make Rush feel any more charitable.

Unnamed ally. Heh.
Rush has to reach Huck supporters and give them the bad news and let them down easily. This is his opening. Planned? Who cares.
JiangxiDad on December 20, 2007 at 11:51 AM
Why would this hurt Huckabee at this point? He’s gotten to where he is regardless of Limbaugh.
I like Rush, but if he’s so important to the early caucuses, how come it hasn’t shown?
freakagriep on December 20, 2007 at 11:53 AM
Why would this hurt Huckabee at this point? He’s gotten to where he is regardless of Limbaugh.
Up to this point, no one of Limbaugh’s popularity and reach has pointed out Huckabee’s record as governor of Arkansas in detail. That Huckabee ally, with his insult, just gave Limbaugh an in.
Why again are there still so many conservatives supporting this disaster, Huckabigot?!?

I can’t remember the last time that he has veered from the talking points from the DC/Manhattan chattering class.
What a f—–g moron. Yeah, the Congressional switchboard didn’t crash over shamnesty, largely because of people like Rush getting the word out and directly opposing the “country club Republicans”. (His term.) The RNC wishes Rush would parrot their talking points the way liberals carry the Democrats’ water for them. What an utterly stupid comment–not only because it’s wrong on its face, but because this idiot is calling down the lightning.
How about running on the issues, Huckster? Oh, wait–he’s an utter disaster on the issues, which is why conservatives–including Rush–oppose him.
Let’s keep in mind that this was an unnamed source. Why anyone believes any political reporter who insists on using unnamed sources is beyond me.

Now, Rush, please preach the truth about Huck.

Nope, you forgot to mention something. Republican politicicians who stray from conservative republican positions on the issues are afraid of Rush. Anybody who is an actual Republican and governs as one has absolutely nothing to fear from Rush. And that is the way is should be.

well, i guess that means that rush isn’t a good christian, and hates christians, or else he’d be supporting huck.

Yeah, I couldn’t agree with bnelson less on this. Rush couldn’t possibly care less what anyone else says; he’s in a league of his own. The notion that he caters to the “DC chattering class” is one of the least informed opinions I have heard recently.
Jaibones on December 20, 2007 at 1:38 PM
Maybe this was Karl Rove’s handiwork. Pose as a Huckabee supporter, attempt to trash Rush with ignorant comments, hurt Huckabee. Magnificent!
Buy Danish on December 20, 2007 at 1:47 PM
Rush has said countless times he does not endorse primary candidates. That said, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t take a little “corrective action” against the Huckster (which is what Rush has been calling him lately.)
Blowback
