I took Journalism 101 a year ago. It drove me insane listening to these chubby, ex-hippie, “journalists” from Newsday, TIME, and CBS tell me how the mainstream media actually has editing processes and standards, while the blogs are just blogs and suck bawlz.
I also swam the Atlantic last year, but it only took me one night. It counts if you’re watching a movie where people swim in a scene on an Alitalia flight, right?

Dare we say “She’s in a LEAGUE of her own.”?

Didn’t Drudge have it? I saw the headline and went yeah, right.

Does anyone know a newspaper reporter with a functioning brain?

The Anchorage Daily News had a story the other day about Track Palin’s unit in Iraq – it quoted the commander as saying that their base was being hit with rockets and “motors”.
I e-mailed the reporter after I saw that, but it was over a day until they sneakily corrected it to say “mortars”.
Layers of fact-checking and editorial quality control.

There were quite a few even on this site who believed a woman could swim 13 miles per hour.
One even shrugged it off as not the fastest time he had seen.
Michael Phelps tops off in the high 5’s.

Yeah, I was there. I think they did. We’ll see if they own up to it.

Ah hah, where’s that guy who was bitching at people here in the original thread saying she accomplished more than anyone saying it was a hoax.

And next, the heartwarming story of the first woman to swim to the moon.
Attila (Pillage Idiot) on February 11, 2009 at 10:06 PM
If anyone believed that story…yikes!
SouthernGent on February 11, 2009 at 10:09 PM
All of you who told me I was just being jealous, and probably can’t even swim, etc… because I said this story was BS…
Well, I’d like a cookie.
