And it’s a good thing, too, because neither one may win anything else this year. Blanche Lincoln is so far back of John Boozman in the Senate race in Arkansas that she might need to change her name to Nash Rambler. Patty Murray has a slight polling lead in Washington over challenger Dino Rossi, but if the wave begins crashing in the East on Election Night, it’s very possible that Murray will get washed out of the Senate when the wave hits the West Coast. Reason TV and Citizens Against Government Waste award their Porkers of the Month to this duo for attempting to stave off defeat by arguing that the US needs even more pork barrel spending in Washington — and claiming that they’re just the two who can deliver it:

Update: The video has been taken down at the request of CAGW, which worried about a conflict with its tax status in discussing two current candidates for office this close to the election.  Also, I stand corrected about another point: Washington will conduct the election by mail in 38 of its 39 counties, so the “wave” theory won’t apply to Washington.  If momentum is to build, that wave has to crest well before the rest of the country.
