According to the survey of 800 likely Texas voters conducted by Crosswind Media & Public Relations and Pulse Opinion Research, Trump has 45 percent support to 38 percent for Clinton with 7 percent for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and 10 percent not sure.
“Texas is definitely not a tossup state. No question,” said Thomas Graham, CEO of Crosswind, a Texas-based public relations firm with offices in New York, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
“Trump is going to win Texas, but Hillary Clinton will make it uncomfortable for him and for Republicans,” said Graham, referring to the potential impact on down ballot GOP candidates of a presidential candidate not likely to carry the state by the usual double-digit margin.
“For down-ballot races, it’s who gets their voters to the polls,” Graham said.
