“They’ve turned a national movement into a national mess here in Portland,” she said Monday as she walked through Chapman and Lownsdale squares, where she camped a couple of nights ago.

“I’ve seen a total of four assaults and that was all in a 24-hour period,” she said. “I saw the assaults with the two by four by the center there with the tower.”…

“Now it just seems like it’s a safe haven for a lot of street kids (and) a lot of homeless people that do drugs,” she said. “I’ve seen drugs and alcohol run rampant through here. I don’t feel safe in the parks.”
