GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry said Thursday that he would be open to granting temporary work visas to undocumented immigrants in the United States, but reiterated that he is opposed to granting them a path to citizenship…

Perry insisted it was a mistake for other GOP leaders, such as former President George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), to have supported a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. The Texan also claimed the current field’s front runner, Mitt Romney, wants a pathway to citizenship, even though Romney has said he’s against it.

“I think that’s where both McCain, that’s where Romney, that’s where even Bush went wrong when they talked about the issue of we’re going to give amnesty to these individuals and people just said, no we’re not,” Perry said.
