Hallie Biden: Hunter Was Using Cocaine At the Time He Bought the Firearm

Hunter Biden’s sister-in-law and former romantic partner, Hallie Biden, took the stand at his trial on gun-related charges Thursday and told jurors she believed he was using cocaine around the time he bought a pistol in the fall of 2018.

Federal prosecutors asked Hallie about a series of text messages she exchanged with Hunter in the days after he bought a Colt revolver on Oct. 12, 2018.

In the texts, Hunter said he was “waiting for a dealer named Mookie” and said he was “sleeping on a car smoking crack.”

I guess that visit from Joe didn't sway Hallie's testimony after all. She is one of at least three former Hunter girlfriends testifying about his use of drugs in the time when the firearm was purchased, but Hallie puts the two together closest, at least on direct examination. Abbe Lowell argued that Hunter had completed a rehab stint prior to the purchase, but Hallie's testimony apparently contradicts that argument. She's also testifying that she found the gun among drug remains and paraphernalia, so ... good luck to Lowell on that one.
