Everyone ready for tonight's ObamaCare lies?

The good news here is that the American people, as it turns out, can read. Who knew? The administration was hoping that with a barrage of primetime press conferences, well-choreographed town halls with the president, infomercials from the White House, and now a speech to a joint session of Congress, which they could blow past the pesky details and pass their massive government takeover of health care in America.

But that “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain” strategy has failed; and President Obama finds himself confronting his real problem: speeches and marketing win campaigns, but speeches and marketing don’t solve problems, and they are certainly no substitute for governing.

If and when the President ever wants to get serious about enacting common sense reforms that actually address the rising costs of health care, the Republican Party is ready to work with him in a bipartisan way. But as long as he keeps promoting the fantasy that cramming through Nancy Pelosi’s government takeover of health care is the “change” America wants, no amount of beautiful speeches will get him out of Oz.
