The 15-nation U.N. Security Council adopted its resolution Thursday by a vote of 14 to 0. The United States abstained, though Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the U.S. government supported the text and objectives of the resolution. The U.N. also suspended humanitarian aid deliveries on Friday in Gaza, citing Israeli attacks on its facilities and personnel.
