It was only a matter of time before someone hijacked the greatness that is Command & Conquer and made its bizarro twin:
A Syrian games company is currently in the process of creating a strategy game which tells the story of the first 100 years of Islam’s history.
The company is hoping that ‘Al-Quraysh‘ will correct the general public’s attitudes towards Islam, alleviate tensions in the West, and help in teaching young Muslims about the early history of their religion.
The players can choose to command the armies of four different nations, namely Bedouins, Arabs, Persians and Romans, or lead the army of the protagonist, a Muslim warrior by the name of Khaled Ibn Waleed who defeated the Roman and Persian empires having not lost a single battle. The roles involved in the game include building and protecting trade routes and water sources, building armies, conducting battles and freeing slaves.
It’s revisionist history, in other words.
I have a question, though: How will the game depict the first 100 years of Islam without showing Mohammed? And won’t showing him, in any way, require having an image of him? Isn’t that strictly haram?
Just asking.
