Here’s the first ad for “The Force Awakens,” making its way from South Korea to your laptop by the magic of YouTube. Some of the footage you’ve already seen, some of it — explosions, silvery Stormtrooper-ish guys looking menacing — you haven’t. I want to say “this movie can’t possibly miss” but we all said that after “The Phantom Menace” trailer too, so let’s just leave it at “it’ll be crushingly disappointing if this movie somehow misses.” Increasingly, though, it seems like Luke Skywalker is a good fit for the times politically: The story of a guy with little training and a dark-side pedigree who rises to smash the empire is, after all, the story of Trump. Co-starring Jeb Bush as Darth Vader and Rand Paul as Chewbacca.
