Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

It’s a slow news week when the lead guest on ABC’s Sunday show is a guy who plays a fictional politician. Kevin Spacey sits down with Stephanopoulos for some navel-gazing about how much the Washington of “House of Cards” resembles the real thing (expect some obligatory blather that at least Frank Underwood’s House of Representatives “gets things done”) and whether maybe Beltwayers shouldn’t revel quite so much in a show that depicts them as power-sniffing sociopaths. Between HOC and “This Town,” the biggest splashes in political entertainment this year have been made by celebrations of the cartoonish narcissism of D.C. politicos and their media courtiers. Seems only right that Spacey and Mark Leibovich co-emceee the next White House Correspondents Dinner.

If you’re not up for that, Jim DeMint gets the spotlight on “Face the Nation” to discuss whether Mitch Must Go and the related RINO/tea party divide. Also, Mitt Romney will be on “Meet the Press” for some reason. The full line-up is at Politico.
