Two congressmen have suggested outgoing Rep. Jim Leach, a Republican from Iowa, as a possible compromise candidate to replace Bolton. Leach voted against the resolution authorizing war in 2002, supports bilateral talks with North Korea, and had not a single harsh word to say about a National Intelligence Estimate being leaked to the Times in October. Where, exactly, is the “compromise”?
