The darling of the progressive left, newly-elected Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), is about to be honored for her tireless campaigning and her “hard work”. Her first pair of campaign trail shoes will be loaned to the Cornell Costume Collection exhibit as an example of what hard work looks like. The title of the exhibit is “WOMEN EMPOWERED: Fashions from the Frontline”.

The exhibit – titled “WOMEN EMPOWERED: Fashions from the Frontline,” is set to debut on December 6 and summonses women to share special articles of clothing that have empowered them in the past. Other featured items include the inaugural suit worn by Texas governor Ann Richards and collars from Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg among many other pieces of history.

Ocasio-Cortez’s shoes were first seen back in June when the 29-year-old tweeted an image of her distressed, hole-riddled footwear in response to criticism she faced by people who attested she only won for “demographic” reasons.

The addition of Ocasio-Cortez’s shoes was announced on Instagram and she tweeted about it, too. Here’s a tweet with the shoes.

Ocasio-Cortez has come under fire for her expensive-looking wardrobe as she goes through freshman orientation in Congress. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t care if her clothes come from Marshall’s or Neiman Marcus. I like that she is dressing professionally. Given her young age, she is no doubt aware that looking professional will help give her some credence. There are plenty of other things for conservatives to legitimately criticize her for and it all has to do with her political ideology. Frankly, I remember being her age and griping about everyday expenses while budgeting my salary, too.

Ocasio-Cortez’s hard work is going to drive incoming Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi nuts and I’m going to enjoy that. AOC is relentless – just scroll through her Twitter feed and check out her tweets. Apparently, she also uses Instagram to do things like cook and chat with her supporters. Currently, she’s all riled up about climate change and the government report released Friday afternoon. WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!

You may remember that she was among those who went to Pelosi’s office for a sit-in over climate change policies. While her Twitter feed is full of bashing of Republicans and Fox News, she also is quick to criticize her own party. And she is none too eager to compromise on anything. The power base on the left side of the aisle has yet to get a handle on how to deal with her.

AOC’s hard work is being used to push a Green New Deal which is a call for our economy to transition to 100 percent renewable energy. And, it should be done in a decade, too.

Incoming liberals, led by Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, are demanding Pelosi go beyond her promise to revive a select committee on global warming; they want her and the rest of the Democratic Caucus to back an ambitious plan to transition the economy to 100 percent renewable energy in a little more than a decade.

But the party’s chairmen-in-waiting are pushing back on the idea that even a new select committee would be necessary, arguing that the existing Energy and Commerce, Natural Resources, Transportationand Science committees have the tools they need to address climate change.

So, good luck with all that, Mrs. Pelosi. I’m going to enjoy the show.
