Our media informs me that it’s bona fide news that a hip-hop star — a white one! — went off on the president at an awards show. And with Kid Rock toying with a Senate run and POTUS himself a former reality-show host, I suppose it is. If nothing else, you’ll need to know what happened last night so that you’re not confused when the presidential Twitter account inevitably starts tweeting that Eminem is washed-up and has “no flow.”

Jared Kushner will be tasked with freestyling the official White House rebuttal.

From a CNN story entitled, I kid you not, “Eminem unleashes on Trump: The 11 fiercest lines”:

The Detroit rapper challenged his fans at the BET Hip Hop Awards to “decide who you like more” — Eminem or Trump. He has slammed the President previously in the nine-minute 2016 freestyle “Campaign Speech” and in Big Sean’s “No Favors.”

“And any fan of mine who’s a supporter of his, I’m drawing in the sand a line, you’re either for or against, and if you can’t decide who you like more and you’re split on who you should stand beside, I’ll do it for it for you with this. F— you,” he said toward the end, raising his middle finger.

Liberals heard that and began wanking it like Harvey Weinstein in a botanical garden. The best reaction:

All it took to convert this giant dork to hip-hop fandom was a white dude sputtering through rhymes about how much a Republican president sucks. If only the Beastie Boys had thought of that 30 years ago.

Because we live in a cultural post-apocalypse, we must now endure semi-plausible headlines like this:

A race between the guys behind the songs “Ass Like That” and “Balls In Your Mouth” for all the marbles in Michigan would be a floodgate-opener for celebrities of all stripes to stampede into electoral office. Maybe that’ll be Weinstein’s second act, in fact. Given his behavior with women, he’s obviously presidential material.

Here’s the Eminem anti-Trump rap, which is more easily read than endured, and a curio from 2004 of him being introduced by, er, Donald Trump.
