For reasons which escape me in the 21st century when talking about relations with countries which are supposed to be our allies, noted pedophile and convicted child rapist Roman Polanski is giving interviews from the Zurich Film Festival rather than the bottom level of some dank dungeon. Usually, when the “uncomfortable” subject of his monstrous crimes against children are brought up, the director waves questions off and doesn’t comment.

On this occasion, however, as his attorneys press his case to be allowed to return to the United States without having to go to jail, he actually responded to a reporter. His answer once again demonstrates his complete lack of remorse and sense of entitlement, as if a person of his stature in the entertainment industry should not be held accountable under the law. Speaking at the Zurich Film Festival, Roman Polanski made a rare comment on the rape conviction that caused him to flee the United States. Polanski was arrested and charged with raping Samantha Geimer, who was 13 at the time, in 1977. In a plea bargain, the director pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, but fled to Paris when he heard the judge was considering giving him 50 years in prison.

“As you know, Samantha Geimer has been asking for over 30 years for this thing to end. But, I’m sorry the judges who dealt with it the last 40 years were corrupted, one covering for the other … maybe one of them will (eventually) stop doing it,” he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “As far as what I did: It’s over. I pleaded guilty. I went to jail. I came back to the United States to do it, people forget about that, or don’t even know. I then was locked up here (in Zurich) after this festival. So in the sum, I did about 4 or 5 times than what was promised to me,” Polanksi said.

You’ll note that the only time the words ‘I’m sorry’ escape the monster’s lips are when he’s talking about the idea that the judges handling the trial are “corrupt” or something. As to what he did to Samantha Geimer in 1977? (Not to mention other little girls, one of which recently came forward to accuse him.) There’s no apology there. Just a statement that he feels his lawyers pencil whipped that problem into the trash when it originally happened and… it’s over.

Over? Oh no, Roman. Allow me to assure you that this isn’t over. It’s not over by a damn site. Not if we have anything to say about it.

The child molester wants to hang his perverted hat on the fact that Samantha Geimer is a good Christian soul who has heeded the words of the Lord and forgiven the monster who attacked her. Good for her. That’s more than even some of the most godly in our society could muster. But that’s also not how the legal system works.

In case there are any of you left who somehow never caught wind of the original story, let us not allow Polanski, the media, or anyone else to whitewash the details. In 1977 Samantha Geimer was a 13 year old child who, having been lured by the promise of having some photos taken and the possibility of getting to work as a model dangled before her, was lured into Polanski’s presence. He gave her alcohol and then slipped her some drugs. In her incapacitated state he then proceeded to rape and sodomize her. And when he was done he essentially kicked her to the curb like so much rubbish.

Ms. Geimer may have forgiven you, Roman, but the rest of the world with any sense of right and wrong has not. And if there is any justice in this life, when you eventually go to your “reward” it will be in a lake of fire. But before that time comes we’d like one last shot at you in a court of law. If you had an ounce of decency anywhere in your depraved excuse for a soul you would come back to California on your own with no strings attached and stand before the bar of justice.

Of course, I don’t expect that to happen, so I sincerely hope that our respective governments can come to some sort of arrangement where you are extradited back here by force. At this point I’d happily trade Fethullah Gulen for you. Perhaps your home country could get something good from Turkey for him in return.
