What better way to kick off the week than with yet another story of former congressman (and husband of Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin) Anthony Weiner getting up to some cell phone community organizing with a woman other than his wife? Yes, Carlos Danger seems to be on the prowl yet again, as reported by Fox News and the New York Post, and this time he’s getting their four year old son in on the photographic fun.

Former Congressman and New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner sent explicit photos to a woman multiple times over the past 19 months, according to a New York Post report published late Sunday.

The report said Weiner, who is married to Hillary Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin, described his sexual fantasies and masturbation in messages to the unidentified woman and called her “literally a fantasy chick.”

One of the photos Weiner sent the woman showed his underwear-clad crotch as his son Jordan slept next to him in bed.

We should note that Weiner is now essentially a private citizen without any official access to the levers of government power these days, so what he does with his, er… private affairs is between he and his wife. But with that said, there’s a disturbing pattern of behavior on display here, combined with a seeming denial of reality in Weiner’s mind. After admitting that the sexting contained stories of sexual fantasies and masturbation, Abedin’s husband went on to state that his conversations with the unnamed woman were, “private … and were always appropriate.”

I can’t speak for what goes on in the Abedin household, but having been married for a couple of decades I can assure you that my wife would take a rather dim view of this definition of “appropriate.”

Probably more off-putting is the inclusion of a photo of his… downstairs region with their four year old child sleeping next to him. No matter what sort of kink you’ve got cooking in your social life, that’s simply disturbing. It’s true that he’s not directly tied to the Clinton campaign or, presumably, any future White House staff, and the Clintons themselves are likely beyond the point of being embarrassed by anything at this stage of the game, but is Carlos Danger the sort of character you want tied to your official staff in any capacity?

Exit question: In the event that Hillary Clinton manages to become the next president in spite of her many ethical lapses and general air of dishonesty, one assumes that Huma Abedin will be spending a lot of time in the West Wing. Will her husband be tagging along for any visits? I only ask because Clinton is already famous for having trouble related to her handling of email and internet accessible documents, but Weiner clearly shouldn’t be near any sensitive materials with a camera enabled cell phone. We wouldn’t want the Russians getting hold of the launch codes, even if they had to crop Anthony Weiner’s crotch out of the photo.
