Donald Trump says that if he becomes president he will ask Congress to formally declare war on ISIS.

The presumptive nominee made his declaration on Fox News Thursday night while responding to the terror attack in Nice, France.

Asked by host Bill O’Reilly if he would ask Congress for the declaration, Trump replied, “It wouldn’t bother me at all doing that. We probably should have done that in the first place.”

“This is a war against people who are vicious, violent people that we have no idea who they are, where they come from. We are allowing tens of thousands of them into our country now so on top of wars on foreign land wait ’til you see what happens in the future. It’s probably not going to be pretty. I hope I’m wrong about that, but it’s probably not going to be pretty. It’s not speculation. We’re allowing people into our country. We don’t know who they are, where they come from.”

He left himself a little wiggle room on the war declaration question by telling O’Reilly, “I’ll study the facts, but I think right now I would have no problem with doing it because we are at war. By the way, the world is at war.”

Meanwhile, on CNN, Hillary Clinton also had war on her mind. She told Anderson Cooper “It’s clear we are at war with these terrorist groups and what they represent.” She also continued to say, “It’s a different kind of war, and we need to be smart about how we wage it and win it.”

Cooper pressed Clinton’s talking point by making her name the enemy in this war. “When you say we’re at war, who are we at war with? Are we at worth with radical jihadists? Radical Islam? Who are we at war against?”

“We are at war against radical jihadists who use Islam to recruit and radicalize others in order to pursue their evil agenda,” Clinton responded.

She quickly added, “It’s not so important what we call these people as to what we do about them.”
