I watched it live on Fox News at 4 p.m. ET. When I say they’re throwing rocks and bricks, I don’t mean one or two projectiles. It was a barrage. One cop has apparently already been injured and taken away. The local CBS affiliate, WJZ, had a reporter on the scene a few minutes ago holding up a broken police shield, destroyed by the force of whatever hit it. The cops have shown restraint so far, retreating down one street as the protesters advanced on them, chucking objects. How long that’ll last is unclear.

Baltimore PD sent out a bulletin this morning:

Police said in a statement that they have received information that members of “various gangs” — including the Black Guerrilla Family, the Bloods and the Crips — have “entered into a partnership” to harm police…

Capt. Eric Kowalczyk, the agency’s chief spokesman, said he could not immediately elaborate on how the information was received or why police found it credible. He would not say whether it was believed connected to the ongoing demonstrations regarding the death of Freddie Gray.

In December, the Baltimore FBI office issued a memo that the Black Guerrilla Family gang was targeting “white cops” in Maryland, an agency spokeswoman confirmed.

The Baltimore man who traveled to New York in December and murdered two NYPD cops in cold blood while they were sitting in their squad car was suspected of being a member of the Black Guerrilla Family given their rhetoric about retaliating against cops for the killings of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. The feds claimed later that they found no evidence of a connection. Either way, gonna be a long night in Baltimore. Here’s your live video feed to follow it.

Update: It’ll get worse before it gets better. Is one of the cops here throwing a brick back at the crowd?

Update: As I write this at 4:30 ET, Fox is carrying a live shot of protesters surrounding a police car and beating on the sides and hood. Can’t tell if there are cops inside or not.

Update: Cops are getting hurt.

Update: It’s not just rocks and bricks.
