The man who put fake documents on the air in his haste to nail Bush, stood by while Mary Mapes and three execs took the fall, and as recently as last year reiterated that he stands by the story? Talking about personal responsibility and lecturing in his poor-man’s-Murrow way about good journalistic practice? And we didn’t get it?

I was filled with a heart-ache heretofore unknown. But like a good neighbor, Beyond The News was there.
