The dispute was bipartisan but alas, my friends, it was the Republican who came unhinged. Bishop, the puncher, says he was called an SOB; Barron, the punchee, denies it. As you’ll see, Bishop admits what he did was wrong but his understanding of its wrongness is perhaps unduly nuanced:

Bishop said he should not have hit him on the Senate floor, but that the Democratic Senator deserved to be punched, and that Bishop would do it again under the same circumstances…

“If he calls me that again, it will happen again,” he said.
