Are you ready for Cartoon Jihad 2? Update: Video added

Right now, somewhere in Gaza, someone’s placing an order for 50,000 Danish flags and three cases of matchbooks:

Danish state TV on Friday aired amateur video footage showing young members of the anti-immigrant Danish Peoples’ party engaged in a competition to draw humiliating cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad…

The images, filmed by artist Martin Rosengaard Knudsen who posed as a member of the party for several months to document attitudes among young members, show a number of young people drinking, singing and drawing cartoons ridiculing the Prophet Mohammad.

The faces of the young people were blurred in most of the footage. One cartoon appeared to depict the Prophet Mohammad as a camel, urinating and drinking beer. The competition took place in early August, according to Danish media.

Another cartoon strip aired in the partly masked footage on state TV seemed to show the prophet Mohammad surrounded by beer bottles and included an image of an explosion.

I checked the TV station’s website. You will not be surprised to learn that the footage isn’t available. Not that that’s going to stop anyone. Check out what Moonbat Media found today in an online forum allegedly run by exiled British fundie wackjob Omar Bakri Mohammed:

Al Jazeera’s on the case, too. The Arabic-language version of Al-Jazeera, I mean; there appears to be nothing on the English-language site about the program as of this writing. Note this passage in the article, as translated by Google:

The president of the Youth Kenneth Christiansen in a statement on the island of the Net that was not present during the presentation of the commemoration of the charges, He described the charges and that the big error does not accept this work at all if it were present at the ceremony.

Kritiansen refused to address the question of an apology directly from the fees and simply refusing, He called on Muslims to recognize that the Messiah is the son of God, and they must form the tariff books on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him “to improve his image in the West and the definition of it.”

There’s nothing about that in the Reuters story, nor anywhere else on Google News from what I can tell. Did I miss something? Or have the “embellishments” started already?

Update: Compare the behavior of the Danish kids to that of, say, Charlotte Church.

Update: It’s not on Danish TV website — but it is on YouTube. At least for five more seconds, until it gets flagged as “inappropriate.” Thanks to Sugiero for the tip. Update 10/7: The videos have been removed from YouTube but since replaced. Watch them at Sugiero’s site.

Update: The Muslim Brotherhood is already milking it.

Update: Abu Laban, the Danish imam who led the effort to stir up outrage in the Middle East over the Jyllands-Posten cartoons, is playing this one close to the vest: “[T]his time it’s a different situation. Of course it’s deplorable, but we all know the attitude the DPP have toward Muslims and Islam and these pictures were never intended for publication.”

Update: Dan Riehl’s got screencaps of the Mohammed drawings from the video.
