Zarqawi's supposed successor in jail in Egypt?

Yeah, yeah, I know: Al-Jazeera. But Al-Bawaba’s got it too. The story didn’t originate with either of them, anyway.

It’s probably a case of mistaken identity. As I recall, there was a report after 9/11 that Mohammed Atta had been found alive in the Middle East. And so he had — a different Mohammed Atta. Factor in the mujahedeen’s fondness for pseudonyms and there are probably forty to fifty guys named “Abu al-Masri” wanted for terrorism overseas.

Whatever. Good enough for Stratfor, good enough for Hot Air!
