Panic Sets in: Democrats Are Running on Nothing but Fear

Democrats are so afraid that Donald Trump may win the 2024 presidential election that they are pushing the panic button in public.

Think about that. A sitting president is running for re-election and because he has absolutely nothing good to run on, he and everyone around him are running a campaign of fear of his Republican opposition. Donald Trump, the former president, looks set to win the Republican nomination. The vast majority of American voters do not want another Biden versus Trump battle but that is what we are going to get. It’s the reality on the ground as the primary season gets underway.

Trump’s big win in Iowa sent Democrats into a tizzy. The presidential election is not until November and only the votes in Iowa caucuses have been cast so far yet the fear-mongering campaign has begun. What other choice do Democrats have?

The two biggest issues for primary voters are the economy and immigration. In Iowa, the Biden border crisis was the top issue. Iowa isn’t a border state and it’s a long distance from the southern border. Yet, Joe Biden has turned every state into a border state with his policies. His DHS is transporting illegal aliens into every congressional district in the country. This is Biden’s plan. Barack Obama used to talk about fundamentally transforming America but it is his understudy, Joe Biden, who is doing it.

Unfortunately for the Biden campaign, the economy and immigration are two of Joe Biden’s big failures in his term as president. Not even labeling his economic policies as Bidenomics, an attempted play on Reaganomics, is moving the needle with voters. The narrative from Democrats that the economy is doing well and everything’s great is laughable. American consumers sure don’t feel any joy as they go about everyday shopping and paying regular monthly bills. Everything is more expensive in Biden’s America. Wages are not keeping up with the cost of living. Voters are fed up.

Doom and gloom over a possible Trump victory in November outweighs the general malaise felt by everyday Americans for Democrats.

When Trump won in Iowa, Biden’s X account posted a fundraising plea because of that victory. Mission accomplished. He posted the result of that plea and pitched another one to voters last night.

“Time to get on board.” That’s not exactly an inspiring slogan, is it?

Vice President Kamala Harris was a guest on The View and she claimed that Republicans have nothing to run on. That’s an interesting take, given that Democrats control the White House and the Senate. Just recently, Republicans took back the House with a very slim margin. So, voters are looking at the work of Democrats, not Republicans. Republicans have big successes on statewide levels. Look at what Ron DeSantis has done for Florida. He turned a purple swing state into a bright red state with a supermajority in its state legislature. He won re-election by 20 points. Democrats switched their voter registrations to Republican because of DeSantis. Not too shabby.

Poor Kamala. She’s “scared as heck.” That’s what she told the women on The View when she was asked how she would stop “all the crazies.” We’re the crazies – Republican voters are the people she fears. Trump is her top fear. Imagine being the vice president of the United States and making such a statement on national television. “Crazies” are the new “Deplorables”, I guess. The problem for Kamala is that normal, everyday people, half the country, think the Trump years were pretty great. Mean tweets and remarks aside, Trump’s policies were good. His accomplishments were many. The economy was booming until the pandemic happened. Voters asked now if they are better off than they were four years ago say no. More than 70% of voters do not think Biden is doing a good job.

Kamala’s explanation to the women around the table on The View was, um, interesting. Lots of word salad and phony claims.

KAMALA HARRIS: I am scared as heck, which is why I’m traveling our country. You know, there is an old saying that there are only two ways to run for office — either without an opponent or scared. So on all of those points, yes, we should all be scared. But as we know and certainly this is a table of very powerful women, we don’t run away from something when we’re scared. We fight back against it, right?

So many of us know that when we are scared for the future of our children do we then stay in the bed with the covers over our heads?

We can’t, and this is where this election requires brightly that President Biden and I, and all of us who are part of this administration, we got to earn re-election. There is no question. We got to be on the road, listen, since the last two weeks I’ve been to Georgia, I’ve been to Nevada, I’ve been to North Carolina, I’ve been to South Carolina twice in the first two weeks of this year, I will be out on the road. We have to earn the re-elect and we have to communicate what we have achieved.

And that is going to be one of our big challenges. We’ve done a lot of good work. We need to let people know who brung it to them.

Everyone be scared, y’all. That’s a real winning message.

Michelle Obama is doing the same. She said on a recent podcast that a second Trump term is ‘terrifying’ and the thought keeps her up at night. May I suggest some warm milk, Michelle? Or maybe a shot of something stronger.

There is a network of “public interest groups and lawmakers” who are developing plans to stop Trump from expanding presidential power. Funny, they seem okay with Biden going it alone without Congress as often as he does.

Trump has raised fresh questions about his intentions if he regains power by putting forward a legal theory that a president would be free to do nearly anything with impunity — including assassinate political rivals — so long as Congress can’t muster the votes to impeach him and throw him out of office.

Now, bracing for Trump’s potential return, a loose-knit network of public interest groups and lawmakers is quietly devising plans to try to foil any efforts to expand presidential power, which could include pressuring the military to cater to his political needs.

Those taking part in the effort told NBC News they are studying Trump’s past actions and 2024 policy positions so that they will be ready if he wins in November. That involves preparing to take legal action and send letters to Trump appointees spelling out consequences they’d face if they undermine constitutional norms.

That means lots of dark money groups are teaming up with partisan hacks to make sure the next likely president is unable to get things done. Remember, Trump was already president and did not go off the deep end and become a dictator. Notice that the military is mentioned in their concerns now. That means they let slip who is behind the latest efforts against Trump. So much for a non-political military.

I hope Democrats do not listen to Jamie Dimon. He offered solid advice to Democrats. Stop demonizing MAGA and Trump. At least half of America is insulted when that happens. He is a Democrat with Republican tendencies. He knows what he is talking about.
