Hillary Clinton: How does a little formal deprogramming of MAGA Republicans sound?

Hillary Clinton predicts that Donald Trump will be the 2024 Republican presidential nominee and she is bitter about that. Well, to be fair, Hillary is bitter about a lot of things but especially her former friend Donald Trump.

Trump beat her in 2016 and won the presidency. It was an office she felt entitled to and, frankly, ran a really bad campaign. She has never recovered. Trump ran in 2020 and Hillary re-lived her defeat all over again as she did all she could to stop Trump from his re-election bid. It was Hillary and her campaign that launched the phony Steele dossier and the three year Russia, Russia, Russia hoax against Trump. He was impeached twice. Then he faced the COVID-19 pandemic. The snowball effect created an acceptance of feeble Joe Biden to change course and the rest is history. Trump is running again and poor Hillary just doesn’t get it. For such an alleged smart woman, she sure is a slow learner.

Hillary refuses to get off the stage. Democrats enable her and continue to behave as though she is still a party leader. She is a regular on CNN and MSNBC and any progressive podcast that will have her. She and her family are putting renewed energy into the Clinton Foundation because the grift is still strong.

CNN’s Christiane Amanpour interviewed Hillary Thursday and she had a few things to say, as usual, about Trump, MAGA Republicans, and how things used to be in politics. The topic of the recent upheaval in the House came up and Hillary called for a “formal deprogramming” of MAGA Republicans because they are cultists. She said it was the “sane” part of the GOP who prevented a government shutdown.

“That’s the way it used to be,” Clinton told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Thursday. “I mean, we had very strong partisans in both parties in the past, and we had very bitter battles over all kinds of things… but there wasn’t this little tail of extremism, waving, you know, wagging the dog of the Republican Party as it is today. And sadly, so many of those extremists, those MAGA extremists take their marching orders from Donald Trump, who has no credibility left by any measure. He’s only in it for himself. He’s now defending himself in civil actions and criminal actions. And when do they break with him?”

Clinton continued, “Because at some point, you know, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members, but something needs to happen.”

You can see Amanpour nodding and chuckling over the deprogramming remark. Democrats embrace authoritarianism. When they can’t win a battle of ideas, they resort to suggesting some good old-fashioned communist behavior. You will be made to submit.

Hillary Clinton saying that Donald Trump is only in it for himself is rich. The Clintons have been career-long grifters, using political careers to become fabulously wealthy through their Clinton Foundation. A wag the dog reference was *chef’s kiss* perfect. That expression was popular during the Bill Clinton administration. Republicans used to ask the same question about the support Bill Clinton received from Democrats – when do they finally break away from him?

She was asked how she felt about Trump, who defeated her in 2016, running again. She predicted he would be the nominee despite his legal challenges.

“It’s a classic tale of an authoritarian populist who really has a grip on the emotional, psychological needs and desires of a portion of the population,” Clinton said. “And the base of the Republican Party, for whatever combination of reasons- and it is emotional and psychological, sees in him someone who speaks for them, and they are determined that they will continue to vote for him, attend his rallies, wear his merchandise because for whatever reason, he and his very negative, nasty form of politics resonates with them.”

“Maybe they don’t like migrants, maybe they don’t like gay people, or Black people, or the woman who got the promotion at work they didn’t get, whatever the reason,” Clinton continued.

“So it is like a cult and somebody has to break that momentum. And that’s why I believe Joe Biden will defeat them and hopefully then that will be the end and the fever will break. And then Republicans can try to get back to fighting about issues among themselves and electing people who are least, you know, responsible and accountable,” she added.

Good Lord. Projection, much, Hillary? I’m old enough to remember almost cult-like behavior with members of the press when Bill Clinton was president. Women reporters used to joke about ‘servicing’ him if he asked them to, it was that disgusting. The ultimate cult members are the Obama cult members. Hillary is in need of some self-awareness. Her career depended on her husband’s political career.

She slams Republicans as “election deniers” yet she denied Trump won in 2016. Everything she accuses Trump or his supporters of doing, she has done or is doing herself. She thinks others are too stupid to see that. She continues to say Trump was an illegitimate president. The Russia, Russia, Russia hoax that she and her campaign created was the ultimate in election denial.

Move on, Hillary. Spend some time with the grandchildren. Bitter is not a good look.

I think DeSantis did well here in his response to Hillary Clinton’s “cult” remark.
