Casey DeSantis went solo for the first time in Iowa on Thursday when she appeared with Governor Kim Reynolds to launch Mamas for DeSantis. Florida’s first lady was cheered on by the standing room only audience gathered to watch the revival of the group to expand it nationwide.

Governor Reynolds did an interview on Fox Thursday and was asked about supporting DeSantis for president. She was careful to say that she supports all of the Republican candidates during the primary. That is standard for most politicians, at least in the past, to say that because they don’t want to appear biased during the primary process. The women appeared together at Simpson Barn in Johnston, Iowa for a Q&A -style discussion. The 120 seats available at the venue were filled and some in the audience were standing.

“We are going to launch the largest mobilization of moms and grandmothers across the United States of America to protect the innocence of our children and to protect the rights of parents,” Casey DeSantis said to cheers.

After discussions about children and grandchildren, the women focused on the policy and vision of a Ron DeSantis presidency. They spoke on how mothers and grandmothers can help the DeSantis campaign. The theme is to shrink government, shrink the bureaucracy, and cut red tape. It is what conservatives are supposed to stand for, isn’t it? And, parents having a voice in what is taught in public schools is important.

Mamas for DeSantis rallied support for Ron DeSantis’ Florida gubernatorial campaign last year. Thursday’s event marks a new effort by the DeSantis campaign to close ground with former President Donald Trump by leaning on Casey DeSantis to appeal to influential parental-rights organizations.

Casey DeSantis said 1.1 million mothers and grandmothers signed up with Mamas For DeSantis during that campaign.

It’s a smart move to start putting Casey out there to get more people involved in supporting DeSantis. Her background in broadcasting is helpful because she is a good communicator and can draw in an audience. She said she’s willing to travel around the country to promote her husband.

“I will crisscross the country if that is what’s needed,” Casey DeSantis said about campaigning for her husband. “I believe in him with every ounce of my being. We are going to go to Washington, D.C., and clean house. He is the man to do it.”

So, like with all launches, there’s a video for Mamas for DeSantis.

This is a powerful ad, I don’t care which candidate you are supporting in the primary. This is how you win women voters and independents, the voters a candidate must attract to win an election. Every point hit in the ad is something that conservatives support, whether it is the pushback against abusive pandemic mandates or pushing back against transgender activism and men in women’s sports. It’s about protecting children. It’s about standing up for normal. This is the kind of ad that moves people, not the godawful anti-LGBTQ ad that a Twitter account that supports DeSantis put out. More of this kind of ad, please.

Responses on Twitter to that ad are eye-opening. The hatefulness aimed toward Casey is so ugly and it comes from both leftists and other anti-DeSantis. The tension in the Republican Party doesn’t just come from attacks from the left. It is also inter-party fights that is not at all helpful for any candidate. It divides us when we have to come together after the primary to get rid of the demented old man in the White House and his leftist minions. I mean, mocking Casey over her battle with breast cancer is just over the top. Focus should be on attacking Democrats, not fellow Republicans, with the intensity that is being used now.

Casey DeSantis on the campaign trail is a welcome contrast to that of Jill Biden. Casey is a good messenger for conservatives. Good for her for putting herself out there.
