A retired Alabama police officer claims she was frequently told to keep tabs on Roy Moore during the 1980s due to his tendency to harass high school cheerleaders at sporting events.

Faye Gary, a former cop with the Gadsden Police Department, appeared on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell earlier today and said that everyone in her department was aware of Moore’s rumored proclivity for young girls–and that such rumors were repeated on a daily basis.

She said, “We were also told to watch him at the ball games and make sure that he didn’t hang around the cheerleaders.” Gary continued, “The rumor was that Roy Moore likes young girls. It was not only in our department but at the courthouse, too.”

Gary also said she was personally told that Moore was banned or suspended from the Gadsden Mall due to his aggressive courtship practices directed at young women who worked there. “He would hang around the young girls that worked in the stores and it really got to a place where they say he was harassing them,” she said.”
