Survey: Most religious Americans support a path to citizenship for illegals
The strongest support for a pathway to citizenship came from Hispanic Catholics, Hispanics Protestants and black Protestants, according to the poll. More than 70 percent of people who identified with those groups supported the immigration change.
Additionally, more than half of all Jewish Americans (67%), Mormons (63%), white Catholics (62%), white mainline Protestants (61%) and white evangelical Protestants (56%) supported the inclusive immigration policy.
“Having all of the groups on one side of this debate is pretty remarkable,” said Jones…
Overall, the poll found that more than 6-in-10 (63%) of Americans said the immigration system should allow a conditional pathway to citizenship for immigrants who came hear illegally.

I am shocked by those first two groups. Shocked I tell you. /sarc

But not for violent criminals or their families they are responsible for; and not to enroll in welfare.

If we didn’t have welfare, I’d hardly care who came across the border. Just like the good old days.

Figures that Catholics would be most in favor of coddling illegals. Part of that whole “social justice” thing.

Some these headlines are so freaking stupid it’s laughable.

I am not buying this. Most religious people don’t want other people mistreated–big difference. Who trusts CNN anyway?
The good old USA/gov’t needs to stop doling out the freebies and to start understanding what happens to a country overrun.

They already can apply for citizenship. Why should they get to skip to the front of line. That’ll get you knocked out at Dollywood.

Hot Air cowards and the rest with their “Path to Citizenship” Orwell-speak. Call it what it it is- Amnesty- and then do your poll on that here at Hot Air. The reason Analpandit and Shinehead Morissey haven’t, is that they know Hot Air readership, which is representative of the average Republican voter, overwhelmingly reject Amnesty.
Cowards.

Why must we grant them citizenship ever? Why is a guest worker program with legal status after they jump through the requisite hoops and pay their fines and taxes not enough? Why citizenship? Should citizenship not be reserved for the best and brightest who follow protocol?

Almost as crazy as people who think “comprehensive immigration reform” will be a benefit to our country.
Wigglesworth on March 21, 2013 at 8:46 PM
They should bow down and thank God then, because illegals already have a pathway to citizenship.
By the way, here’s the actual poll questions:
Yep, that’s right, those were the only 2 options on this poll. For a more honest poll, check this one out. I suspect you won’t see it on CNN though. Or HotAir for that matter.

By religious they mean Gaia worshipers. Because no devout members of my church or any I’m familiar with support amnesty for illegal aliens.

Sorry, you lost me at “CNN”.

Funny how a liberaltarian and a drive-by username are so quick to call someone crazy who wants to call a spade a spade.
