Can Rand Paul bring the tea party along on immigration reform?
“I think it’s a very positive development for him to embrace a pathway to citizenship,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who is one of the eight. “I think it will be good for the overall cause of immigration reform and good for the Republican Party.” Graham has criticized Paul on other occasions for his stances on drones and U.S. foreign aid.
Paul’s speech came the day after the Republican National Committee endorsed comprehensive immigration revisions, arguing it would help the party remain competitive in future elections. Latinos played a significant role in helping President Barack Obama win, and the RNC report was intended to help party faithful be more inclusive.
Graham agreed that the 2012 elections are a significant factor in why the GOP is beginning to open up to immigration changes.
“I think the 2012 election was a bit of a wake-up call,” he said.
Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., another immigration group member, called it “great news.”
Asked whether it may help the bill win support among House Republican members, Flake said, “It will make a difference, a big difference.”

Can Rand Paul bring the tea party along on immigration reform AMNESTY?
Uh, No. AMNESTY is a nonstarter.

No. Rand needs to FO. He can join his worm friend Rubio for a 50 year vacation in Mexico, so they can both be closer to their real constituents.

Jowly Jeb’s little Rubio Amnesty roll-out fell flat, so now he’s got Rand fronting for him.
So many shades of Puta Red lipstick- same big fat Bush Amnesty pig.

I really like Rand, but he’s fallen for the media narrative on this, as most Republicans do. I expect that from Rubio, the consummate politician, but a disappointed from Rand. Didn’t he even say “Undocumented Citizen” once? The Republicans should not be in the business of helping liberals shape the debate. At every turn we need to use our own language and explain the cons of liberal policy. Keep them on their heel, not the other way around. But I guess he really believes it. Is there no one willing to make a stand on this?

What exactly needs to be reformed?
No one ever explains that.
Why do you suppose that is?

And yet, somehow, you’ve managed to sleep right through it. The 2012 elections didn’t have a damned thing to do with amnesty for illegals. The 2014 elections will though, and it won’t be pretty for the GOP. If there is any justice left in this world, your sorry ass will be out of a job, you pos.

Rand Paul’s 15 minutes of filibuster fame is over. He’s all over the map, doing a great McCain and Graham impersonation, from Libertarian, to Conservative, to Moderate, to Progressive Liberal all in the span of less than four weeks. He voted for progressives Chuck Hagel, John Kerry, and Jack Lew and may have voted for John Brennan were it not for the conservative backlash over those Obama appointee rubber stamp votes. He then went on a filibuster rant over a straw man issue to throw up a smokescreen to change the subject. The smoke has cleared and now he throws in for amnesty and abortion.

People are being jived. Trial balloons are being floated that hey, even the whole Tea Party (i.e. Rand and Rubio, and Christie) are for immigration
Almost the same script over at politico
Meanwhile, Rubio and Rand play good cop bad cop with the same script
The biggest crony capitalism is amnesty. Rubio, by inference, defines opposition to amnesty as indifference to the plight of others.
These clowns think they hit the jackpot. Expect them to make a move, soon, to ram a bill through the House. If it clears the House, it is home free.
Expect it soon. They have to get it in before the election, not after. If they chicken out, the next election will have more vote stealing than the last one, because both parties will be working the same goals

Oh, I am certain that each of these politicians has a very large multi tens of millions dollars safety net that has been created for them with some sort of inflation protection, such as being in the form of commodities.
