Obama making nice to Iran on eve of Israel visit?
If at fourth you don’t succeed, try, try again.
President Obama is at it again this week, sending really warm wishes to Iran and its people on the occasion of their combination spring-New Year holiday, Nowruz. This is the fifth year Obama has extended the holiday hand of friendship to Iran, despite its ongoing nuclear weapons program and deep involvement in widespread terrorist activities.
Here’s last year’s Obama Nowruz message. Scroll down for the full text and video of Obama’s newest Nowruz message, with Persian subtitles.
The Democrat has also gone out of his way to extend public sympathies to Iran on the occasion of natural disasters and invited Iranian diplomats to July 4th celebrations at U.S., embassies. Despite the country’s intimate involvement in terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan, on the borders of Israel and supplying arms to Syria’s dying regime of Bashir al-Assad.
Obama was also late to offer rhetorical support for Iran’s green attempted democratic revolution in 2009, which was ultimately crushed by government forces. Remember the awful video of Neda, the young Iranian woman shot by government snipers, dying in the street?
Each time Obama has tried friendly, he’s been ignored, denounced or dismissed.

Obama Wipes (Parts Of) Israel Off Of The Map…Again

This is a pretty silly criticism of Obama, especially from people who said he should have done more to encourage the uprising against the Iranian government.
This obviously has nothing to do with making nice with Iran before his Israel visit. He’s done this every year at this exact time of year, so the timing is completely meaningless. And he’s explicitly addressing the Iranian people, not the Iranian government.
In fact, Obama specifically criticizes the government in this statement:
I don’t see how you can interpret this as trying to make nice with Iran on the even of the Israel visit unless you are spinning anything you can as something negative about Obama.
