Ben Carson on 2016: I like Rand, but I may run too
As for his personal aspirations, Carson said he would revisit the possibility of running in a year or so to see if there’s “significant sentiment” in favor of his running.

I agree with you on Palin. She has been my first choice since 2008. But your assertion that Dr. Carson’s claim to fame was because of a speech is ridiculous. And your assertion that only a career politician can be President is exactly the kind of thinking that is destroying us. 5 doctors signed the declaration of Independence. Ron and Rand Paul are doctors. We don’t want or need “politicians”. We need leaders. We need people from all walks of life who are able to articulate conservatism and who are smart enough to solve monumental problems. I don’t know if Dr. Carson will run or whether I would vote for him but to dismiss him because he is a brain surgeon is absurd.

UNTIL that speech, I’d never heard of him and I bet that goes for the vast majority of the politcally aware here on HA.

Enlighten me on my IGNORANCE. He was wrong-headed about the 2A and he hasn’t managed anything larger than a Starbucks…so as a POTUS is a CEO, I can’t really get too excited, for now, about Dr Carson.

*WOW* He’s saved lives, well then by all means elect him to office and why not every EMT and Combat Medic in the Armed Services, too?
So no, he hasn’t managed anything…I wouldn’t hire Jack Welch to perform brain surgery on me, even thuogh he was a kic-@rse CEO, so no I think I’ll wait before I elect a Brain Surgeon to be the CEO of the US government….
I’m sure you’re Kick-@rse at something too, does that AUTOMACTICALLY make you a great candidate for Mayor of your town?

Truth-to-tell, I’d elect the CEO of the Cleeland Clinic POTUS, long before Dr Ben Carson, right now at least. Ben Carson hasn’t had the experience of dealing with large-scale management and funds issues, unlike the CEO of the Cleveland Clinic…
Again, if I need delicate brain surgery, I’ll call Dr Carson, but if I want to a leader/manager of a large health care concern, I’ll choose the current Cleveland Clinic head….just because you are good at one, does not mean you’re good at the other.

Doesn’t matter who comes up, there will always be a set of jackass mission posters.

Dr. Carson is an amazing American success story and he is an American Patriot who loves the US, but he recently took the position that the Bill of Rights should only apply geographically depending on where you live (he said people in cities should not be allowed to keep or bear arms, implying that the 1st amendment should be afforded the same geography litmus test). This is so utterly ridiculous that it disqualifies him for me right out of the box. Support and defend the Bill of Rights, all of it, and never try to change, amend, water down, or otherwise render all or part of it inoperative.
