Assault weapons ban loses steam in the Senate
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said on Monday that a controversial assault weapons ban will not be part of a Democratic gun bill that was expected to reach the Senate floor next month.
After a meeting with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Monday, a frustrated Feinstein said she learned that the bill she sponsored — which bans 157 different models of assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines — wouldn’t be part of a Democratic gun bill to be offered on the Senate floor. …
“My understanding is it will not be [part of the base bill],” Feinstein said. “It will be separate.”
Asked if she were concerned about the decision, Feinstein paused and said, “Sure. I would like to [see the bill moved], but the leader has decided not to do it.”
“You will have to ask him [Reid],” she said, when asked why the decision was made.

The danger here is that implementation then passes to a cabinet member, who could classify TEA Party members as mentally ill.

No one seriously thought federal gun control could pass. Instead, the administration is encouraging/pressuring states to pass laws that are constitutionally questionable so Barry can sidestep a Second Amendment showdown and concentrate on other issues, like legalizing undocumented democrats and collapsing the economy.

I’m sure they could find enough experts to say that just wanting a firearm or any weapon is the sign of a mentally questionable person.
Self-defense = paranoid.
Hunting = hate for other beings.
I’m sure there are many other “mental” conditions that can influence wanting a firearm. If not they will be sure to make them up.
Eventually “mental” conditions is how people will be controlled. Don’t like SSM? Don’t like (fill in the blank)? Like (fill in the blank)? You must be mentally deficient and will have to be readjusted for your own good.
No matter what you think of George Lucus, go watch his THX-1138 movie. It’s a liberals utopian wet dream. Everyone taken care of in perfect, gender-less world.

Reid to Nancy: We will do this in smaller bites. First we will register, THEN we will seize. Can’t do it too fast or the little darlings will fight back.

The Feds will just declare all gun ownership is a mental disorder and try to take our guns that way. It has nothing to do with guns, it has everything to do with control.
