Democrats in Florida start clearing the field for Charlie Crist
With his potential opponents parting the sea for him, Crist is becoming more active as he readies to make a second gubernatorial run, this time as a Democrat. The former governor and failed U.S. Senate candidate spoke to a Democratic club in Fort Myers last weekend. On Saturday, he heads to Sarasota to raise money for the Manatee County Democratic Party…
Crist still faces some foes for the Democratic nomination. Former Florida Senate Democratic Leader Nan Rich is actively running but her bid has gained little traction to date. Former state CFO Alex Sink, who was the Democratic candidate who lost to Scott in 2010, is also in the mix but she remains on the political sidelines after the sudden death at the end of last year of her husband Bill McBride, a prominent attorney and the Democratic gubernatorial candidate in 2002.

Will John Cornyn be endorsing him this time?
Wouldn’t surprise me.

In light of Rick Scott’s pandering for votes on all sides of the political spectrum (the man has been utterly forgettable as a governor) and appearance of total lack of values, Democrats should be thankful; he’s the only thing that can give even a reviled politician like Charlie Crist a fighting chance at the polls.
Couldn’t they just run Alex Sink again? I’m sure she’s not doing anything terribly important at the moment.

Any candidate who changes parties should be required to offer a refund to campaign contributors. And any incumbent who switches parties or decides to caucus with the other party should be required to resign and run in a special election.
Just my $0.02.

Scott, RINO that he’s proven himself, will probably be handing the keys to the mansion to this opportunistic lightweight.

If Florida elects him, they deserve him.
Is he the best democrat Florida can come up with?

I feel sorry for any of you that are Floridians. I am glad I don’t have to look at any more of those billboards with his big gigantic orange face.

Heh, yeah, the “Morgan & Morgan” ones? Perfect poster boy for BP oil spill scammers. I’m envious you escaped this redneck trash heap.

Scott has alienated too many different political factions here in Florida. The fact that his lieutenant governor had to resign because of ethical concerns doesn’t help. The Democrats will win the upcoming election and we will all be worse off for it.
