I do not care for this Ted Cruz character
Then Cruz announced he wanted to “make four points briefly. …” It’s highly unlikely that a single person in the room wanted four points. And they were not in the least brief. But they were remarkable for their incessant self-reference.
“My fourth and final point is that the Constitution, in my opinion, should be the touchstone of everything we do. …”
“I would point out that I am not unfamiliar with the Heller case. Indeed, I represented …”
“In my view, the Constitution is particularly important. …”
Do you think, people, that this is a key to the stupendous impact the Tea Party continues to have on Congress, even now that it’s proved itself to be a loser when it comes to elections? If you combine a lack of a sense of humor with an absence of humility and then stir in a cup of self-righteousness, you are definitely not working on a recipe for cooperative achievement.

Funny, Gail. Who was the tea party presidential candidate in 2012?
Oh that’s right, there wasn’t one.
Hey, did something out of the ordinary happen in the Fall of 2010?
This woman is such a dunce, it’d make more sense to try to teach algebra to your dog than to debate politics with her.
A Balrog of Morgoth on March 16, 2013 at 3:10 PM
This Ted Cruz character would serve himself well if he emulated Joe Biden, truly one of America’s most eloquent speakers.
Nethicus on March 16, 2013 at 3:10 PM
P.S. Cooperative achievement? Is that what Senate and House Democrats aspired to in the years 2000-2009?
A Balrog of Morgoth on March 16, 2013 at 3:11 PM
What? This insitance that the document that congressmen take an oath to is somehow important and relevant to the legislation they pass?
Do I think the Tea Party has influenced Congres in that way?
ABSOLUTLY!

LOL. More lefty projection.
Cooperate with traitors looking to finish off what little might be left of America? Only a total idiot would think of cooperating with any of these despicable, lying scumbag leftists or with the 84 IQ, dog-eating, third world moron they look to as their dictator and father figure. And the funniest part is that Barky holds American leftists in about as much contempt as he holds everyone in the West. Useful idiots, in the clearest way. And they love the role!

There are absolute truths and then there are absolute nitwits.

“But they were remarkable for their incessant self-reference…”
What an unwittingly hilarious comment for an Obama supporter to make.
From ABC for just one small example:
Drained Brain on March 16, 2013 at 3:26 PM
No. They are very aware of it. This is their strategy, to accuse others of what they are guilty of so that they claim the correct accusations against the left are just the other side repeating the left’s disingenuous and incorrect accusations against the right. It has generally worked out pretty well for the left, especially as they have no qualms of falsely accusing the right of everything the left is clearly guilty of but so few on the right have had the brains to accuse the left of those things that the left is truly guilty of. The prime example is the left’s penchant for being anti-American and love for burning American flags, turned upside down as barky and the leftists now raise accusations of being anti-American against those who support our Constitution and the left and their Indonesian dog-eater make claims that they are “defending the flag”. Sadly, they do this and idiots like the Weeping Boner agree with them (the same way he “understood” the Occupoopers but kept attacking the Tea Partiers that put him in power and have never done a violent thing in the movement’s entire existence – though we have a leftist biting a finger off of a Town Haller and nothing is done … or beating up a guy selling flags …).
The left accuses others of their own crimes in order to inoculate themselves. It wouldn’t work in a sane society, but …

Bwahahahaaaha……
To ‘intellectuals’ at NYT like this Gail Collins,
if you don’t have a counter argument, and can’t hold the counter argument, this is the way to ‘drag people down’.

He probably doesn’t care for your corn yellow teeth, Gail.
Marcus on March 16, 2013 at 3:44 PM
The next time you hear about the MSM losing money and audience, consider how much the New York Times paid Gail to write “Ted Cruz is a big poopy-head because he was mean to my friend“.
Gail used a lot more words to be sure, but not much more thought.

Well, Texas doesn’t much care for this Collins character with her lack of a sense of humour, her complete absence of humility, and her bigger-than-Texas self-righteousness.
Is it any wonder that Texans want to be left alone when New York Times columnists seek to convert their state into a big Massachusetts?
What’s The Matter With Texas? Absolutely Nothing.

Cruz is the best thing to happen to the Senate in years.

You mean like the argument that the founding fathers wanted us to able to transmit our speech all over the world in seconds? The internet is used for cyber-crime of all sorts, including child porn, identity theft and yes, even murder – Search: “poisons,” “bomb making.”
The Second Amendment was written as a check on government tyranny and guaranteed a pre-existing right to defend Life, liberty and Property. If anything, the founders would say that the states and people today are under-armed relative to the federal government.

She prefers Diane “I know what’s right because I’ve been here for years” Feinstein?
Feinstein’s only point was that the right & ability to govern arises from longevity in D.C. It was the voice of a Royalist, not a representative. Is that what Ms. Collins prefers?
29Victor on March 16, 2013 at 4:37 PM
I would submit that speech has, for quite some time, been a more deadly weapon than guns.
29Victor on March 16, 2013 at 4:38 PM
Uh, uh, and uh. The POTUS is not much better than Joe.
Say Collins looks a little like Pelosi , but only younger.
It is clear: The machine that is big government, made both of the left and right, fears Cruz.
