What’s next for Sarah Palin?
Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer argued she has as much of a chance of a second act as Joe Biden managed after being “laughed out of the race” in 1988 amid a plagiarism scandal.
However, he added, “Her act as a celebrity is done. Her act as a political figure is possible – if she applies herself.”…
Steve Bannon, the filmmaker and Breitbart News chairman who made a movie about Palin called “Undefeated” that debuted in Iowa, disagreed with the notion that she has lost any standing.
“I don’t think her standing’s ever wavered,” he said. “People hang on her words … I think she’s thinking a lot of things and I’m sure she has a lot of plans and I think there are going to be initiatives.”
“I’m sure she’s doing this for a reason, and I’m sure she’s going to be quite a force in 2014,” he added.

I wasn’t trying to repeat what he said. I was making a statement based on my own observations.
Please post a list of VP candidates or VPs since 1900 that went on to be President. It will be a very short list. I wasn’t expressing an opinion, I was citing the data.

I would love to see any of these combos; Palin/Cruz, Palin/Paul, Palin/West. 1st or 2nd, I don’t care. Rubio? Not so much.

I’m waiting for Palin to actually run for an office. She would be best to run in a solidly red state such as Arizona and could likely win. But if she doesn’t do something relatively soon (within 10 years), she’s going to fade.

Who said that? *looks around furiously*

Those work for me! I don’t care either.

History isn’t much of a guide after 2008 and 2012. I never thought Obama could get elected, much less re-elected, but for him to be re-elected in the current economy blows the mind.
Love Palin – she has been fearless, principled and out in front where others are cautious and even supine. This applies to her entire career. I’ll support her in any undertaking.
Missy on March 15, 2013 at 1:40 PM
Sarah Palin not even 50 years old, when did the too old to run hit the 60 year road block? LOL
idesign on March 15, 2013 at 1:43 PM
Hmmm. Let’s see….
An election outcome like in 2010 where Palin was highly influential or an election outcome like in 2012 where the GOP fossils and good ole boys were highly influential?
I think I like the 2010 style better.

That’s a good one. “I see dead people”. Either he’s raving, delusional … or the Commander in Chief doesn’t know the first thing about the military. Like a supposed chess Grandmaster who calls the knight a “horsey” and doesn’t know how it moves.
Paul-Cincy on March 15, 2013 at 1:44 PM
At least if Sarah decides to run for president, she has had everything bhopress/d’s/rino’s can find on her to slam her? They did this when she was the VP candidate and tries daily to dig up something on her or the family?

How can you not appreciate Gov. Palin?
Panther on March 15, 2013 at 1:52 PM
She would have to win the nomination first and that could be as tough if not tougher than the actual presidential campaign. Too many in the establishment and the media lined up against her. Always has been.
I’d take a year off from business to work for her if she did though.
CTSherman on March 15, 2013 at 1:52 PM
As usual, the socons suffer from delusions of grandeur.
I have said all along Palin runs in 2016.
I also say she has a zero chance of winning the nom, and her mere existence in the race will pull the entire party down nationally for whoever the eventual nominee is. It will make the media way happy, though.
But, that’s what socons do. Then it’s always somebody else’s fault.
Moesart on March 15, 2013 at 1:52 PM
I’ve never understood what you mean by this?
CTSherman on March 15, 2013 at 1:53 PM
Both Cruz and Rand Paul have stated that Palin’s support propelled them to the Senate. What’s next for Palin? Leading a takeover of the GOP by younger, more populist conservatives. Saying goodbye to the establishment ruling class and then winning seats in 2014 and the presidency in 2016. Palin can be the first woman president, She just has to fight like a girl!
fight like a girl on March 15, 2013 at 1:53 PM
I agree.
But no, let’s just keep the hatefest for all conservatives alive.
Bcs tearing the living $hit out of each other & pointing fingers saying who sucks the worstest is going to somehow win elections, ergo change the path of America going over the cliff.
Badger40 on March 15, 2013 at 1:56 PM
Can you imagine the debates between hill and Sarah? I don’t think Sarah would let that old harpy hill, get to her as hill might a man? I would say, Sarah might be advised to have a ‘food taster’ aroung hill?

I am still mystified as to why people hate this woman so much & so venemously they’d rather see someone like Obama win.
And the arguments posited so far have never been convincing, i.e. quitter! reality show queen! blah blah blah.
I have always thought she was a good person & did a good job for AK when she was allowed to.

It’s the simplest thing in the world. Both the libs and the RINO establishment fear her. Rush is right about this. They will always show you what they fear.

Is this the same CK that thought Cruz was “offensive” to Feinstein?
…I could care less what this guy has to say.
Ditto that Daniel.
If Palin decides to run she will also have my full support….feet on the ground, financial and any/all other ways possible.
If she doesn’t run…..then I will do my best to make sure the candidate that does, will be someone with as much “honor”.

Walter Sobchak on March 15, 2013 at 3:17 PM
I’d be interested in where she’d stand in a hypothetical match up with Begich for Senate. Is she still sufficiently popular in Alaska to win that race?
Outside of that, I’d think her political options are pretty limited.
changer1701 on March 15, 2013 at 3:24 PM
Boy no s***. Every Rubio thread and palinist ddrintn runs to it and writes like 20 posts and then concludes “oh he’s so overblown he won’t matter anyway!” Until the NEXT Rubio thread and there he’ll be again!
Marcus on March 15, 2013 at 3:34 PM
the hell you say…
Oh btw love this article. Amazing that on the eve of Palin’s speech yet another article comes out saying how irrelevent Palin is. Can’t wait for her speech. I’m think Cruz and Palin are teaming up with their speeches to deliver a 1 two knockout at CPAC.
Oh yeah anyone see the Mitt speech today. I couldn’t watch it all the way through one of theworse speeches I;ve seen since last Nov…

dude really? how many Mitt mistakes are you going to try to push on us when after two attempts it is shown without a doubt trying to win blue and purple states with a squish like McCain and Mitt that it leads to defeat?
Seriously was the defeat of 2012 not enough pain for you to once and for all reject this outdated gop consultant fantasy?
unseen on March 15, 2013 at 4:05 PM
It’s not consultant fantasy…it’s basic arithmetic. A Republican cannot win the WH with just the solid red states. What is the objection to that?
changer1701 on March 15, 2013 at 4:07 PM
Obama didn’t win by winning red states. He won by getting more of his voters to the polls then Mitt’s voters. All elections are a base turnout model. there is no mythical purple state. no is there this “moderate” mythical voter. the red state/blue state model was coined by Russet in 2000 and put into place by Rove. It is a failed model that barely won Bush the POUTs in 2000 and lost the GOPe the elections in 2008 and 2012. In 2004 Bush/rove abandoned the strategy and won a bigger victory than in 2000 by pushing more social conservatives to the polls in all states.
thinking in terms of blue vs red is a way for political consultants to justify their pay. It allows them to narrowly define the election in terms of small issues and allows the establishment to keep power by deviding the people over non-issues. It makes the election one of “coolness” and does not result in mandates to change the status quo.
If you want to win a mandate type of victory you must do what Reagan did and not what Rove and co did in 2000 and beyond.
This country isn’t 50/50 never was. It is more 70/30 or even 80/20 Reagan understood that and got landslides by running on issues of us vs the “little intellectual elite in a far-distant capitol”
You don’t need consultants to run that type of campaign.
