WaPo: Be careful for what you wish, House Democrats
Democrats are banking on the idea that the same tea party bent that swept Republicans into the majority in 2010 will sweep them out in 2014. The gridlock that House conservatives have contributed to and the policies they have latched onto make them targets. At least, so goes the Democratic thinking.
That’s the 20,000-foot view. Zooming in a bit lays bare the fact that even if the national conversation is focused on the tea party, the challenge of winning back the majority is a hard one.
It’s going to be very difficult for Democrats, plain and simple. Redistricting has led to a polarized House map with more Republican-leaning districts and fewer swing districts that typically are the ripest candidates for flipping party control. Democrats also have some vulnerable incumbents of their own to shield from the GOP.
And history isn’t on their side, either. In the past century, only one president has gained seats in his second midterm: Bill Clinton in 1998. But even then, the shift was modest. Democrats netted five House seats that year — less than a third of what Democrats need this time around — and Republicans retained their majority.

Well, they really have no choice but to fantasize. The nutroots swept the moderate Democrats out years ago.
All the Dems in office now are moonbat-approved. Moderation isn’t in their cards, so they have no choice but to hope that America is on the verge of a revolution of carbon caps, 12 million new Democrats, Card Check, and tons of new spending bankrolled by the infinite pockets of “the rich.” They have to bank on Americans lashing out at a party that isn’t even in power because they’re too “extreme.” Even though this fantasy got them run over in 2009 and 2010, they have no choice but to engage it.
Given the direction of the American public, it’s not a ridiculous gamble.

Methinks it’s fine to say, “Be careful what you wish for”. I don’t think Winston Churchill would mind at all.

Wait, I though the Tea Party was a failure, a fluke, a fad, a passing phase, an anomaly, nothing to worry about, etc.
Now the Democrats want to emulate and duplicate that failure/fluke/fad/phase/anomaly.
Imagine that.

I think that will go down as Øbama’s biggest mistake: Ramming though ØbamaCare and pissing off everyone just before a census and redistricting. Whatever else was on his agenda for the next three or seven years was sacrificed for that. The GOP will now likely control the House through 2020.

Let’s watch those House Dems enjoy the ride on the back of Mr Pres 43% approval rating….4 yrs of pathetic growth and new plan for 2nd term–same as the old plan. No chance Dems.

If the GOP doesn’t increase its hold on the House, it will be time for some serious head-scratching.

…and yet, we’ve got a president that should not have have gotten in for another go either. Let’s just start working like the House is in play and go from there. The sooner the better.

What’s the point of controlling the House if Obama and Reid just need 5 RINO votes in the Senate to get what they want? The three stooges in the House are ramming through whatever passes in the Senate.

ROFLMAO! Typical “democratic thinking”. The minor amount of gridlock the House GOP has actually done has been the only bright spot in their, otherwise, pathetic tenure, most of which involved nothing but caving in to the treasonous, anti-civilization dems and the ineligible, third world dog-eater leading them.
