Obama to Dems: C’mon, we have to make some concessions
President Obama asked House Democrats on Thursday to give him the political room to make concessions to Republicans on entitlements as part of a deficit-reduction deal.
In a meeting with the House Democratic Caucus in the Capitol Visitor Center, Obama said he won’t accept anything less than a balanced approach to deficit reduction that includes new tax revenues, according to numerous lawmakers in the room.
But he also reminded his troops that, with Republicans in control of the lower chamber, no deal is possible unless Democrats are willing to sacrifice some of their sacred cows.

Let’s please note that once again BHO’s first consideration is the political cover, and not a real solution to problems.

He asks, the hard left in the House says ‘pound sand’ and Obama backs of and does nothing.
Clinton at least was willing to work with a Republican coalition on welfare reform and NAFTA when his own party leaders balked; Obama as the Alpha-male in the White House likely won’t have the guts to try and do that if Harry and Nancy tell him to take a hike — or this could simply be a ‘good cop/bad cop’ scenario designed to get Obama’s poll numbers back up, by pushing the blame he’s starting to get right now over a failure to reduce government spending off on people either with safe seats (Pelosi) or someone not running again in 2014 (Reid).

It’s all part of the charade to look like he has absolutely nothing to do with what’s going on. He’s just an innocent outside observer, trying his darnedest to fix things. But behind closed doors, the real malignant narcissist reveals his true colors.
“I won.”
“You get nothing. I get that for free.”

Why aren’t the Republicans hammering him on this? The last deal they passed had no spending cuts what-so-ever. All it had was new revenues (i.e. tax increases). If he truly wants “balance,” he needs to come back to the table now and pass some clean spending cuts, without any additional revenue considerations. Once he does that, he will truly have taken a balanced approach.

A compromise? What, between destroying the country and destroying the country a little slower? Democrats have ceased to be capable of solving problems. They don’t even recognize the country has any problems. What they publicly call “problems” are, to them, opportunities for taking more power and crushing their enemies. That’s the only thing they’re concerned about anymore, the only thing they know how to do.
