Ed Schultz moving to weekends on MSNBC
MSNBC’s “The Ed Show” is leaving its 8 PM timeslot startung in April, Ed Schultz announced at the end of his program this evening. Schultz will be taking his program to the weekend, where it will air from 5-7 PM…
Rumors of Shultz’s departure from 8 PM kicked up last November, when Brian Stelter reported that Schultz would be leaving, and Ezra Klein was the leading candidate to replace him. MSNBC pushed back against the story, saying “there are no changes planned.” The changes may not have been planned, but it certainly seems as though they were in the works.

He’s sure to give that “Paid programming” a run for its money. Muahaha!

Obviously, the 10 urban watchers of MSDNC never liked Ed’s working class, low-brow show.
Sharpton in theory should be on the chopping block, but since he is a race hustler, the NBC’s suits will be to scared to end his show.

His appeal is just becoming more selective.

Between dull-as-dishwater Chris Hayes, numbers wonk Ezra Kline, and Nerdland’s Melissa Harris-Perry, I’d bet on the lovely Mr. Kline landing Ed Schultz’s spot.
I wish Fox would give Dennis Miller a prime time show…but he probably wouldn’t take the pay cut!
Ladysmith CulchaVulcha on March 13, 2013 at 11:14 PM
This is really what Fox should do. Bring in some serious conservative policy people to host a show in primetime.
Mark1971 on March 13, 2013 at 11:17 PM
Oh goody, Schultz 5-7 on MSNBC and Huckabee at 8:00 on FOX.
Luckily, I have a life.

Could stand to round up the next gen of fire-pissers too. I realize the Fox demo is fairly old, but it wouldn’t hurt to work in some young guns into their lineup; not just as guests.

They’re going to replace “LockUp?” with tubby?
I don’t think so.

If Ed were go to CNN, as bad as he is, he might actually improve their situation.
I just checked.
How bad is CNN?
Al Sharpton is beating Wolf at 6pm.
aquaviva on March 13, 2013 at 11:57 PM
That sucks. Instead of being able to not watch him, what, 5 times a week, I only get to not watch him twice a week.

Mystery Solved!
My mom’s tv conked out recently and cannot watch. Since she was a watcher of the show and now is not, 20% of his audience has evaporated due to a power surge at my mom’s house. .
Shame really. I liked that tv.

Oh-oh, with less influence, unions may cut Ed Schultz’s pay:
LABOR DEPT. DOCUMENTS: MSNBC’S ED SCHULTZ ON LABOR UNION PAYROLLS SINCE 2005
U.S. labor unions paid MSNBC “Ed Show” host Ed Schultz roughly $200,000 in 2011, and roughly $337,000 over the last seven years, according to Department of Labor documents.
Newsbusters first reported that the liberal TV talker received $190,000 from the Communications Workers of America for “representational activities” in 2011. CWA president Larry Cohen is a regular guest on Schultz’s radio program.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers also paid Schultz $9,900 last year…

MSNBC tried to cover this up?
OH WAIT! They are well practiced at covering things up and trying to deflect or ignore things. My bad.

Hahahaha…Ezra Klein. The propaganda machine just keeps getting funnier.

I agree, and I’ll volunteer Hannity’s hour, though he carries Michelle Malkin once a week, whereas BOR and Greta don’t seem to know who she is.
Also, for reddevil’s reason, I wish FNC would consider putting Redeye on at 9, 10, or 11. If 9 or 10, move Hannity or Greta to 7, and take that hour from Smith. He’s awful.

zzzzzzzzzzzz, what? Ed Schultz? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
FineasFinn on March 14, 2013 at 9:23 AM
If that whiney chick Schultz had half the confidence and swagger of that Maddow dude he might have earned a decent following instead of being banished to the Elba of cable news.
