Trump’s speech announcement boosts CPAC ticket sales
According to one source close to CPAC, ticket sales had a sharp upward spike after Trump’s speech was announced. He’s not the only crowd-generator slated to speak: sales also increased when it was announced that Sarah Palin would speak.
Two members of the American Conservative Union board, which oversees CPAC, confirmed to National Review that they had not been asked their opinion about nor notified that Trump would be speaking prior to the public announcement.

I figure that’s why he got the “invite.” Pam Gellar doesn’t have a TV show or as big a following….

Ugh. We will lose 2014.

So CPAC’s real mission now is to make a buck in getting the greatest huckster in the world to speak at their convention. BTW, I have no problems with The Donald making money anyway that he can. I am a capitalist.

Why becasue some blow-hard got an invite to CPAC….Jeeez-Louise….you got to get a stronger heart.

If I were going to CPAC, I’d probably use the Trump speech as an opportunity to take a long, leisurely dump while doing a crossword in the paper.
DRayRaven on March 7, 2013 at 10:58 AM
Just FYI – CPAC does not pay speakers to attend.

But speakers can write big checks, If they wish.
SC.Charlie on March 7, 2013 at 11:34 AM
I wish someone would explain how Chris Christie and Bob McDonnell(!) aren’t worthy of an invite, but this attention whore is. Last I checked, he wasn’t exactly a bastion of True Conservatism either.

Pam Geller was struck from “the list” too.
SC.Charlie on March 7, 2013 at 11:58 AM
Yeah, I’m generally more in favor of a more “diverse” CPAC than most people, but that issue aside, how the hell can they justify bringing Trump in after locking out some of those other folks?
LukeinNE on March 7, 2013 at 12:02 PM
1) Donations from The Donald
2) Increased ticket sales; and
3) Donald buys up tickets, and then gives them away….a surreptious donation.
Think eyeballs and dollar bills.
