The media’s distorting the sequester debate to help Obama
Such stories have been commonplace since Obama grimly strode into an auditorium in the White House last week, stood in front of a carefully staged backdrop of uniformed first responders and condemned congressional Republicans for taking a “meat cleaver” approach to budget cuts.
“Are you willing to see a bunch of first responders lose their jobs because you want to protect a special interest tax loophole? Are you willing to have teachers laid off?” he asked.
As Obama expected, his words of woe were broadcast, printed and blogged, warning that these cuts must be avoided at all costs or the world as we know it will end.
Of course the cuts will have an impact on people employed by the government or dependent on government programs. However, journalists must be aware that claims of disaster are a decades-old cliché used by politicians intent on stopping budget cuts as much as by conscientious officials giving the public information it needs to know. Skepticism in the original reports is just as important as follow-up a week later.

It will get even worse if and when the sequester takes effect. Every bad thing that happens in the world will be blamed on the sequester.
Gird your loins.

Wake up oldies. Too bad you voted for the swine.

OH good gravy. Rush just said that bho will veto a senate bill that passed giving bho power to deal with the sequester? bho already has that power. bho DOES not want to make a decision, NONE that his slimy fingerprints are on! bho wants to hold the r’s responsible for everything and see to it they are NO MORE!

the lie that the left/barry/spering want people to believe is contained in the email to Woodward. Everyone is missing that part, feigning shock that threats would ever be used to control information.
the original deal was that tax rates would go up and spending would be sequestered. In fact the definition of sequester is just that…to sequester off funds, i.e. not spend them.
but now spering/left/obama want all good reporters to say that the tax increases a couple of months ago were unrelated…and now it is time for a ‘balanced’ approach…say 50/50 tax/spending instead of the sequestration of funds
liars lie…and get angry if you don’t fall for their lies
nice guys

The first shooting, storm, rape etc on March 1, 2013 will be blamed on the sequester.
